Our booksellers will have a thoughtfully curated selection of books, each paired with a refreshing wine that brings the story to life! We are thrilled to have Novi founder, Lee Moffett leading the pairing event with us. This event is for any and all readers over the age of 21.

About Novi Vineyards
It Started With a Mountain
To a plant the vineyard, everything needs to be right. The soil, the slope, the view. Since growing French grapes in the Alabama heat is no easy task, we had to be selective.
Risers Mill Mountain was just the place. The mountain affords a gentle view of the valley, hemmed by towering pine trees and rich Alabama soil. Once a hay field, the land now would be the foundation of a dream.
A Field Was Planted
In the valley below Risers Mill Mountain, Lee and his sons worked tireless to level the land, slope it to capture Alabama rains, and set up the trellises that would hold the future canopy of grapes.
Setting the grapes up to express every note and flavor took years to turn to wine. Almost a decade to be exact. Since the first harvest would not follow until the wooded vines were firmly established in the soil, years of fallow followed the hard labor of planting the vineyard.
A Dream Was Born
Within a few years, the Moffett family knew they had something special. The first harvest of Blanc DuBois yielded a small but incredible find- a French-hybrid wine bursting with citrus, apricot, and honey. And to think, it was grown, harvested, aged, bottled, and cellared- here in Alpine, Alabama.
Next came the all-American Norton. The grape that "saved" wine. True to it's history, the Norton proved a resilient and powerful vine, championing over the Alabama heat and humidity with a shower of leaves and healthy fruit. The wine itself proved to reflect those very characteristics- bold, complex, and surprising. A perfect pair for peppered meats, spicy cheeses, and grilled American food.
