Staff Feature: JD Tyler, LP Team Member
Say hello to JD Tyler, one of our LP team members!
JD is a team player extraordinaire, from delighting our young visitors with balloons to running local deliveries! But unsurprisingly, his favorite part of the work has to do with the books themselves:
“I’ve always wanted to work in a bookstore, so in some ways working at LP is a little dream come true… Connecting people to books that are wholesome, thought-provoking, and worth reading is really important to me. It's also something I think we do really well at Little Professor.”
In his own reading, JD uses books to satisfy his curiosity, so he loves to read about his Christian faith, history, and politics - though an occasional novel makes the cut! On this he says:
“Books are a time-tested gateway to greater knowledge and understanding… It's hard to be bored when there is so much to learn about!”
With Amazon Prime day wrapping up last week, people are discussing why to shop local and physically in small retailers. It’s something the team at Little Professor takes seriously as we curate our customer experience. For JD, the atmosphere of the store is what makes Little Professor special, the experience not replicable online.
“When you walk into Little Professor, you have people who really want to help you find a great book and we have a thoughtfully curated inventory to accomplish this.”
Next time you’re in-store, ask JD what he’s currently reading (Hamilton and Plain Theology for Plain People), how he’s preventing a 6-month-old puppy from destroying his apartment, or say congrats for his upcoming wedding!
Thanks, JD, for helping make Little Professor special!
P.S. Here are some of his recommended reads!
