Sponsored by the Homewood Arts Council, “Monsters” is a free craft talk and creative writing workshop hosted by Dr. M.K. Foster.

This event will interweave lecture elements, creative writing prompts, creative readings, and group discussion of monsters, monster theory, and the monstrous in ancient, premodern, and current cultures. The three blocks of 20-minutes move from a monster lecture, to monster reading/discussion, to monster writing. By the end of the event, attendants with a more advanced understanding of monsters and monster theory, as well as a small folio of creative writing sketches. Perfect for adults interested in both learning about monsters/ monster theory and creating their own monster tales. Bring notebooks, pens, and a smart phone/digital device to pull up readings through a website. 

Monsters is the second of two HAC-sponsored events with MK in October.
